Fun Fall Times!

Ok, I give up on even trying to make regular posts.  This will just have to be random like my life I guess.  :o)

So, worth sharing in the past month, Cedar Hill Farms pumpkin patch - WE LOVE IT!!!  This is our 3rd year to go.  It is the best place for fall pictures.  Here are a few of my favorite (I took about 400)!

These pictures have not been edited at all.  But, I just read on another blog that I follow "Applique Cafe Blog" that she uses and recommends a free software called "Photoscape" to edit her pictures (crop, brighten, sharpen, etc.)  I can't wait to find time to check it out.

*****Movie Review*****  - It has been sooooo long since me and my husband went to see a movie.  Finally, we got to go see "The Help".  I loved it!!!   I like movies that are realistic and based or semi-based on true stories.  It was great!!!  I highly recommend it!

This past Saturday was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure that we have done with my mom for the past 4 years.  She is a breast cancer survivor and our team name is Hope Floats.  In the past, I just did the 1 mile Family fun walk (short version behind the runners).  This year I decided to be brave and run it.  I did NOT train very well as in I haven't ran at all in the past month.  The month before I ran a couple of times with my sis-n-law and barely made 1 mile each time.  BUT, I ran most of the way Saturday, and finished in 37 minutes and 15 seconds.  I know that is super slow to some people but I was quite excited.  That is the 1st 5k I have ran since high school.  My son ran it in 20 minutes and 30 seconds and I think my husband ran it in 30 minutes.   It was just so exciting being out there with so many runners and seeing the yards that were decorated.  It was awesome!  I can't wait till next year.  But, I am still sore and it is Wednesday.

Mom and Me freezing before the race!!!  :o)

And last but not least, Halloween!!!   We had a big Fall Fun Festival at our church which we have been planning and organizing for about 6 weeks.  It was hard work but it was a huge success!!!  The kids had a wonderful time.  Here are a few pics!

Family Photo (minus our teenager who thought he was too cool to hang out with us)!!!  :o)

I know I've been MIA...

So, I'm not doing a great job of keeping up with my new hobby - this blog!   There is so much that I have wanted to write about I just haven't stopped to do it.  Wow - where to start?

We had a very busy weekend.  On Saturday, we celebrated my little nephew Lucas' 1st birthday.  The kids had so much fun.  They painted shirts and swam and just had so much fun!

Then on Sunday we celebrated Zadie's 2nd birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese's.  I really don't like that place - just kidding!  She had a wonderful time.  She was a little scared of Chuck-E but had fun anyway.  She went into the ticket blaster with me and surprisingly no tears.  I paid extra so that Big Sister Zoe could do the ticket blaster also because I just knew she would have to do it.  She was crying and scared to death.  She finally went in with her Mimi and loved it.  Zadie keeps asking to go back to Chuck-E-Cheese!

Forgot to mention that with all the parties going on we were disappointed that we couldn't go to the Millington Air Show.  However, on the way home from Lucas' party I could see the Blue Angels flying.  So I drove to Orgill Park and we had the perfect view.  They were awesome and it was free!  :o)

In the middle of all the partying and the many things that I have to do on the embroidery machine, I took a break to do 2 projects that " I " have been wanting to do.

To Welcome Fall, I'm so excited because it is my favorite season, I made this wreath for my front door.  I think it turned out cute!

I also had a problem with this counter in the kitchen that is always filled with junk.  Here is the before picture:

Here is the after picture with the new curtain that I made.

Looks much mo better - huh?

Both girls had strep throat so they have missed some school and I missed 1 bible study.  Then this week Zoe threw up twice.  Hopefully we can get it together and get back on schedule.   It has been Homecoming Week for Austin at school so he has been busy and having a good time.  He is the one in the air in the picture below (yes the one in the air).  My heart stopped when I saw it - he is up so high!  The Juniors did good!!!

Well, there is a little bit of what has been going on the past few weeks.  I hope to better.  This blog was packed!!!

Goodbye Labor Day Weekend - I will miss you!

I absolutely loved 3 day weekends when I worked full-time and I love them just as much now because my husband is home with us.  He skipped out on golf this weekend to hang out with us.  I sure love him!!!   Let's start with...my mother-in-law is back in town after being gone a month to help take care of one of her best friends in Alabama.  So, she got back Friday and after eating dinner together at one of our favorite restaurants the girls went home with her.  Austin spent the night with a friend so that meant we were KID-FREE.  Wow, I forgot what that felt like.  I love them all but you know it was very peaceful and we got a lot done.

We were busy on the embroidery machine this weekend.  We did 6 market totes, 2 towels, 1 cosmetic bag, 1 garment bag, and 3 shirts.  I think that is everything.  Still have a lot more to do.  But it felt good to knock a few things off of the list.

Austin had a cross country meet and then left for the lake with his dad's family.  So it was just us and the girls.  We went swimming Saturday and had a good time.  Sunday night we had a few family members over for a cookout.  We were going to swim again but it rained.  We still enjoyed spending time with everyone!  The food was great (as always) and I ate too much (as always) - nice start to the Biggest Loser!  Monday we just relaxed around the house.  We needed this around the house time very much.  It was a nice break from our normal run-run-run!!!

Today, the girls went to spend the day with my mother-in-law.  So, I took the opportunity to do a little shopping alone.  I forgot how nice that was.  Anyway, I am soooo glad that I did because I found this Basket Rack and I think it is just the coolest thing.  I LOVE IT!   I haven't figured out what I am going to put in it yet (thinking about ribbon or fabric)!

So, yesterday was Zoe's first day of preschool and Zadie went back to Parents Day Out.   We were supposed to be there at 8:30 and we left the house at 8:30.  Then as I walk Zoe into her room I see the lunchboxes sitting on  a bookshelf and realize ours are still in the refrigerator.  Good job mom!  Nice start to the school year!  I did however enjoy the day which was full of running around.
My husband and I have been really busy on the embroidery machine working on bags for a cheer leading team.  Did I mention these are bags from Hell!!! Whew, I was so glad when the last one finished and I could finally breathe again.
I'm getting pumped up with my Zumba class as we are going to start a Biggest Loser contest this Thursday.  I am aiming to lose 12 pounds and I will be one happy girl!  :o)  I hope this helps keep everyone motivated!  We are also going to start running 3 days a week.  Well, that's the plan at least!
I am supposed to join a women's bible study in the morning with my friend Bonnie.  I am looking forward to some much needed Jesus Time.  I'm glad her and Carla stayed on me to join.
Oh and I finally (only after 1 whole year) made my first cake plate as a wedding gift.  "Null" is their last name.  Check it out!

Nashville Day Trip

Spent the day with one of my besties - Bonnie!  We drove to Nashville for the National Network of Embroidery Professionals Trade Show.  We got some great new ideas since we have decided that Bonnie needs to be my partner when we go BIG TIME!  ;o)   I got some nicely priced thread and ordered some new bigger fast frames (yay) they will be great on big bags.  Then we visited a fabric store that another good friend said I HAD to visit.  It is called Stitchers Garden in Franklin, TN.  Oh My gosh, I was in hog heaven.  There were so many cute fabrics I was like a kid in a candy store.  I got several cute-cute fat quarters, a Halloween polka dot fabric and a new ruffle pants pattern that I need to try asap.  We made a quick stop by Once Upon a Child and got a few good deals and then went to Trees and Trends.  Neat-neat store.  They had a Christmas tree decorated in Halloween stuff it was soooo cute.  Then dinner at Casey Jones Village in Jackson.  We had soooooo much fun - I can't wait till next year!

Here's the Halloween tree - is it not the cutest thing???
